CHECKING CLINIC TO BE HELD FOR DEMONS YOUTH HOCKEY SQUIRTS
Six sessions to be held prior to 2005-06 player evaluations.

MARLBOROUGH, MA: The Demons Youth Hockey Association has contracted with Puckmasters of Marlborough to conduct a three-night checking clinic for its second-year squirts who will be moving on to the Pee-Wee level in the 2005-06 season. The clinic will serve as preparation for the players prior to the upcoming evaluations. ?We?re very excited the Demons have chosen Puckmasters to conduct their checking instruction at Puckmasters,? says Puckmasters General Manager and Hockey Director Patrick Nugent. ?The people within the organization have been great to work with thus far, and we?re thrilled to be working with their squirt players.?
The squirts will be split into two groups of approximately 15 players. Each group will participate in three one-hour checking sessions for a total of six clinics for the Demons. Topics to be covered will include: angling for checking, stick checks, shoulder checks, hip checks, receiving a check, danger zones in checking, and overall safe practice for checking. Players will work in small groups, utilizing all three synthetic ice surfaces as well as the video facilities in the Puckmasters Conference room.
