JUNIOR BRUINS WIN EJHL CHAMPIONSHIP

Marquee Puckmasters tenant earns top honors in the most elite league in the northeast.

WORCESTER, MA: The Boston Junior Bruins, who have named Puckmasters it?s ?Official Off-Ice Training Center,? have claimed the Eastern Junior Hockey League?s (EJHL) Championship thanks to a 4-3 decision over their arch rival New Hampshire Junior Monarchs Tuesday night the Hart Center on the Campus of the College of Holy Cross. It marks their first Championship in three consecutive trips to the finals.

?The strength training our players received at Puckmasters was a key party in our ability to stay healthy throughout the season,? said Head Coach & General Manger Peter Masters. ?The players also took full advantage of the shooting facilities which made a big difference as well.?

The Junior Bruins trained at Puckmasters as a team on building strength, agility, explosiveness, and flexibility two times per week throughout the fall at varied times and days depending on their practice and game schedule. The program was specifically designed to meet the unique physical and scheduling needs of in-season junior players. In addition to the weight room, players also utilized the synthetic ice surface to train individually on shooting, power skating and puck control.

The Junior Bruins draw the most elite players from throughout the New England area. They play primarily at the New England Sports Center, but also practice and play games at Lawrence Academy, Holy Cross, and the Navin rink. They compete in the Eastern Junior Hockey (EJHL) who is the premier junior league in the northeast.

The goal of junior hockey is to develop players ages 16-21 both physically and socially for making the jump to college hockey. As an organization, the Junior Bruins have been tremendously successful as next fall eight of the nine Hockey East teams will have a BJB alum on their roster.

?It?s the best decision I?ve ever made,? said Puckmasters goalie coach and EJHL MVP and Goalie of the Year Nevin Hamilton. ?If I didn?t leave the high school team and play here for five years, I wouldn?t be going where I am.?

Nevin will be attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell who compete in Hockey East; one of the top college hockey conferences in the country.
