Shrewsbury Youth Hockey and The New England Nighthawks Team Up With Puckmasters for 05-06
SYHA returns for year number two while the Nighthawks made debut appearance.

MARLBOROUGH, MA: General Manager and Hockey Director Patrick Nugent has announced that the Puckmasters Hockey Training Center of Marlborough has reached an agreement with both the Shrewsbury Youth and the New England Nighthawks Girls Hockey associations which will see each of the two groups and Puckmasters of Marlborough form a partnership to provide their respective players and coaches with skill development programming for the upcoming season.
This will be year number two for Shrewsbury and Puckmasters. As in 2004-05, SYHA will utilize the Puckmasters staff to conduct on-ice skill development sessions during regular practice ice at the Buffone Arena on Lake Ave. in Worcester through September, October, and November. The group will then transition to train at Puckmasters through December, January and into February. Skills to be covered will include, skating technique, checking, shooting, passing, puck control and basic positioning.
?We?re really excited to be continuing our partnership with Shrewsbury?, said Nugent. ?Last year Shrewsbury made great strides in their skill development which ultimately led to several championships for their teams. We look forward to helping them achieve even greater success this year.?
The Nighthawks and Puckmasters will be teaming up together for the first time in 05-06. The, Nighthawks, who draw players from throughout central Massachusetts, will train at Puckmasters once per week and will focusing primarily on shooting, puck control, passing, and defensive tactics. In addition to skills targeted for skaters, the Nighthawks goalies will also receive ample attention, as they will train weekly in small groups in a semi-private setting. They begin work this Friday evening, September 9th.
