BUTLER, FITZGIBBONS, HIRLIMAN, & MACNEIL ADDED TO PUCKMASTERS STAFF

Four new coaches sign on for 2005-2006 season.

MARLBOROUGH, MA: Puckmasters of Marlborough Hockey Director Pat Nugent has announced the addition of four new coaches to the training staff. Bob Butler of Marlborough, MA, Matt Fitzgibbons of Natick, MA, John Hirliman of Jamestown, NY, and Ryan MacNeil of Wayland, MA, are now a part of the Puckmasters Team. ?We?re very excited to have such qualified instructors join our staff,? says Nugent. ?Their outstanding hockey resumes speak for themselves and I?m confident their dynamic personalities will go a long way towards taking our organization to the next level.?

Butler, a graduate Marlborough High School?s Class of 2005, is a two-time Division III state scoring leader. Last season he led the Panthers to their first-ever State Championship at the TD Bank North Garden. Bob currently plays for the Boston Jr. Bruins of the Eastern Junior Hockey League and has committed to the University of New Hampshire for the fall of 2006.

Fitzgibbons, also a member of the Boston Jr. Bruins, is an explosive player and an even stronger instructor. In 2003-04 he was named Boston Jr. Bruins Midget AAA Most Valuable Player. ?Fitzy,? as he?s known by his teammates, led the team in scoring with 68 goals and 60 assists for 128 points in just 75 games.

Hirliman graduated from Oswego State University in the spring of 2003. A four-year letter-winner, he was voted team captain for both his junior and senior year. As a senior, he led the Great Lakers to a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) championship and took them to their first NCAA III championship game in 16 years.

Rounding out the 2005-06 Puckmasters coaching additions is former Niagara University goaltender Ryan MacNeil. Before his tour as a purple eagle, ?Mac? was a standout goaltender for the Exeter Snowdevils (EJHL) and for the Cushing Academy Penguins. MacNeil, who was also a regular on the USA Hockey Team Massachusetts Select 15, 16 and 17 squads, led the Penguins to a NEPSHL Championship in 1997-98.

?We look forward to having these young men instructing for Puckmasters,? says Nugent. ?Each one brings tremendous experience which will prove valuable as they share and work with our students.?
