MARLBOROUGH, MA: The Boston Junior Bruins of the Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL), have contracted with Puckmasters Marlborough to provide strength and speed training through the 2005-06 season it was announced today by General Manager and Hockey Director Patrick Nugent. The team, who is comprised of the most elite players in the northeast ages 16-20, will train two times per week according to their practice and game schedule.
?I?m excited to be continuing our relationship with Puckmasters,? says Junior Bruins General Manager and Head Coach Peter Masters. ?The staff has been extremely knowledgeable and willing to accommodate our needs. This strength training program will be a great additional benefit to our junior team and will be a key factor in preparing our players for the collegiate game.?
The Junior Bruins are arguably the top junior team in the northeast. Last season, the Jr. Bruins were crowned champions of the EJHL and graduate several players to division one colleges and universities.
Puckmasters, who is already the official off-ice training center for the Junior Bruins, designed this program specifically to meet the scheduling and training needs for this elite group of players. Athletes will focus on improving flexibility, explosiveness, balance and agility as well as strength. Players will be evaluated in a series of strength areas at the beginning and end of the fall and winter seasons to measure growth.
